Lavasoft Ad-Aware
I had to update my Ad-Aware today. When I tried to update the Ad-Aware SE it errored out. They are forcing people to update. Maybe this is a good thing or not. To combat spyware you need multiple spyware applications to combat it. What do you think are the best applications to combat spyware?
I like Ad-Aware and spybot..

Protect Your Websites
You should backup your websites because when or if you get hacked you can easly restore your sites. The best way to backup your data on your webhosting is to do a full backup of your whole public html directory, and then you want to backup your databases. I bought an external hard drive just for this occasion. A good site for free scripts is called Hotscripts. You can find scripts made in different programming languages.

Lego’s 50th anniversary

Just Looked on Google’s Logo and it is Lego’s 50th anniversary.
Lego is a line of building toys manufactured by the Lego Group, a privately held company based in Denmark.
The company’s flagship product, commonly referred to as Lego bricks, consists of colourful interlocking plastic bricks and an accompanying array of gears, minifigures and various other parts. There are other Lego pieces which can be assembled and connected in many ways, such as vehicles, buildings and even working robots. The Lego Group had a very humble beginning in the workshop of Ole Kirk Christiansen, a carpenter from Billund, Denmark. Christiansen began creating wooden toys in 1932; the company began calling itself “Lego” two years later in 1934. The company expanded to producing plastic toys in 1947. More information on Legos and where I got my information on the histroy of them Go Here. I think all kids had legos when they were young or had them in school.

Hosted Version of Openads!
Most people that have website use banners to monetize their website. I used Openads to serve my banners on my websites. Now you don’t need to have a webserver, PHP, and MySql to serve up your banners. You can get Openads new hosted version.
What this means is that a publisher will have the option to use Openads without downloading and installing on their own web server. This will be useful for small publishers, who do not have the time, money, or expertise to use the downloaded version.

Save Your Money for a rainy day!!!!

You should save as much money that you can for a rainy day. When I took a contracting job at SUNY OCC I knew it would end someday. I am glade that I saved my money. I was a contractor for 1 year. I would be in a hole and wouldn’t be able to get out if I didn’t save my money. I finally found another contracting job but it is a short one, but I am making more money then I was at Suny OCC. This is just a rant to say save your money for a rainy day.
Just my 2 cents.

In-Text Links
On my websites, I use an AD program called Kontera’ s In-Text links. I like to use these type of networks because they use words on your website and make them into links. The links that are double lined are the In-Text links. I also use another AD network called Adbrite, but this AD network uses In-Text links and an ad banner.
To make your Kontera Links a single underline you need to type this in to your kontera code “var dc_single_line = ‘yes’;”. I don’t use this with my In-Text links, but another blog that origninaly posted how to do it is called success.grownupgeek.com. I thought this was a cool to post because it will help monetize your site.
I just saw that I had comment from the publisher service manager from Kontera. He or she said Kontera doesn’t recomment or authorize changing the ContentLinks into a single underline. I would say if you do this then a good chance that you will be banned from them.
-
Kontera ContentLinks are contextually relevant keywords discovered in real time on a publisher’s web page that are automatically turned into a link to the most relevant and highest paying text ad from one of Kontera’s thousands of advertisers.
