Pictures of the damage computer equipment from the flood
Here are some pictures of the computer equipment. We had a storage room that got flooded pretty good that had monitors, keyboards, cables, and their was a very important device that thank god nothing happened to it. Some this equipment also came from employee offices that got hit hard. It is amazing how fast the water can erode and rust the parts of a computer.
On Call Day 3 – Water main break at Crouse Hospital
I went to Commonwealth for two tickets. One ticket was to move a computer from one location to the other, and the other ticket was that a user was just getting a blue screen while loading the computer. The second ticket was doing so good so I ended bring the computer back to the shop, and putting in a loaner for the user to use when I am working on her computer.
When I was at Commonwealth at the hospital they had water main break that broke under one of the floors in the basement and flooded the basement. There was bunch of computers that got water damage, also one of storage rooms got hit pretty good. Here is a picture of the whole in the floor. I ended up staying late on Wednesday so I could help clean. There were racks full medical supplies that had to be move. The floors had good amount of wet muddy dirt on it. Here is a picture of the water main break at Crouse Hospital.
This morning at 1:40 AM I got called in to put in a loaner fax and printer because one of the floors had broke their canon copier. I got done around 3:00 AM. I didn’t get that much sleep for Thursday.
On Call Day 2
I wasn’t called in or anything like that. I have been just working on tickets. They did find that the server that I was called in had bad memory in it. They took the memory out and the server has been stable. That was it for tuesday.
On Call Day 1
I don’t have to do PC refresh this week. I ended getting a call yesterday around 8:45 PM that a server was malfunctioning and word reboot in a continues loop. I ended up calling my supervisor. It might be good or might be bad. I was going to ask him if he has a number to IBM support. He asked what server it was. I told him and he said I should call the project manager of the project, and that these servers are not in production and they are just in testing phase for one department. I called the project manager he said it was OK to shutdown the server and wait for tomorrow to look at it.
I don’t know if I should have went in to work last night or not. I think I shot the gun and went over there to fast. I heard server is down. I thought it might have been a critical server. I need to ask questions first and then act on the information that I get. I acted on the server is down. It is a new server also and it has been in place for 6 months. Thats saying a lot about the server.

WordPress 2.6.1 is out!!
Everyone WordPress has put a new version of their blogging software. This version is their maintenance release. It is release after a major release like 2.6.0. You can download the automatic WordPress WordPress Automatic Upgrade plugin to do the upgrade. It is very easy and fast to upgrade.
2.6.1 offers several improvements for international users. Styling of the admin for right-to-left languages is much improved thanks to the efforts of the Farsi and Hebrew translation teams, and a mysterious gettext bug caused by certain PHP configurations is now fixed. For IIS users, 2.6.1 fixes several permalink problems. Image insertion problems in the Press This feature experienced by IE users are also fixed. Of note to everyone is a fix for a performance bug in the admin where those with a lot of plugins would experience slowness on some pages.
Week is almost over
The week is almost over. Yesterday I had to go to the Bellavia’s because they wanted me to take their 300 GB hard drive that they bought for their old computer and put it in a USB enclosure. Then I had to setup the fax server software to send the PDF’s that it creates to the USB enclosure instead of a folder on the taxi server. I made the OS fat32 partition and they have a around 4GB limitation on any folder or file size. The faxes folder got to around 4 GB and wouldn’t let the program write to the folder for almost a week.
At work I have been spending a lot of time over in School of nursing. It is their busy week because it is when all of the students come back from summer and also all of the faculty members come back. When they leave for the summer they turn off their computer and expect everything to work but because the computers are off for months they don’t get updated, they loose connection with domain controller. When they are off for months and months something will go wrong most likely. I had to reprepp two computers, and i had 4 other tickets that dealt with couldn’t get onto the computer because of password or using the wrong username when logging onto the computer and couldn’t get her printer to show.
The keyword of the day is UGG boots. It is boots that are made out of sheepskin. It keeps heat and moisture away from your feet. In cold weather the soft wool fibers act as a natural insulator, keeping your feet warm and comfortable. In warm weather the supple fibers act as a natural air conditioner, keeping your feet cool and comfortable. The thick, natural fleece on the removable insole molds to the unique shape of your foot creating a natural arch support.
How to Add a URL in the Blog Roll
If you want to advertise your other sites or just do a link exchange with other people you want to add them to the blog roll in WordPress. There are two ways to add links to the blog roll.
The first way is to go to write and then Link in the dashboard. There you enter the link details like the name that you want to appear on the page, the web address, and the description of the page. Here is a screen shot of adding the link. When you are done entering in the details you then want to hit the button that says save. If it is a personal page and you don’t want people to look at the link you can also set it to private.
The second way is going to Manage and then to links. You will see add new next to the word Manage Links. This will bring you back to the page to add the link.
When you go to the front page of your blog you should see your link that you added. I did a link called test and here is the screenshot of the link showing in my blog roll.
