How to Sell Private Advertising

I really don’t know how to sell private advertising because I have never done it. So I did some research on Google and also looked at my fellow bloggers out in the Internet world to see how they are doing it.

Why would some one want to advertise on your website?

You first need to build up your blog to respectable level. You need people visiting your blog and you need RSS readers. To get a blog that people would want to come back over and over again. You will need to first write good content. The visitors will start to pour in.

Have a Advertise page on your blog

You should have an advertise page on your blog so Advertisers know all of your stats on one page. You should write what kind of advertising is going to be permitted on your blog. You can sell banners, and links on your blog. On the advertise page you should have at least Technorati Rank, Alexa Rank, RSS Subscribers, Google Backlinks, Yahoo Backlinks, and Google Page Rank. You can also put a link right to paypal so they can buy an ad spot. You can also get a Word Press plugin that will make this a very easy process. The plugin is called OIOpublisher. If you also want a plugin to show you your stats for your blog then you want to download the plugin called Blog Stats.

Look for Advertisers

You should be looking for the advertisers because mostly they won’t come to you for advertising on the page. If you were a big time blogger like John Chow or ShoeMoney then they would be actively searching you out. This weekend and next week

Postal Service might go to 5 days a week

I just read that the postal service is thinking of going to a 5 day week instead of a 6 day week that they are manadated to do. I think they need to find ways to cut their costs and become profitable. Other countries are already doing 5 day week mail delivery. I would also think they should look at what areas can they limit on the mail delivery, and maybe just do the 6 day delivery in cities like NYC where it is very busy and their are a lot of people. What does everyone else think about this? Do you care if it is 6 days or 5 days?

Find topic for posts on other websites

If you can’t find an idea then look at other websites and write what you are thinking on the topic. You don’t need to copy what the other people said in your post. What you can do is expand on their idea an include a link to original post. You get more exposure and the original author can see that you talked about his post. He or she also gets exposure from your readers. Both parties win because each side gets exposure from both website readers.

If you find something that is hot at the moment then you should be writing about it. You can make money with this kind of traffic. Google visitors are more then happy to click on your banners also. This is what I have been seeing and other people also have seen this.

Facebook bans breast feeding photos

Facebook is banning photos of women breast feeding their children. I saw this on CNN. Facebook says some of the photos are violating their terms of use policy. If the photo doesn’t show the the whole breast it is ok. The ones that they took down they say people complained about. I think people on the internet takes things way to serious and they need to calm down. If it offends you then don’t look at their facebook page. You do have a back button on your browser so use it.

Here is another example of people judging other people. If you look on craigslist people can flag other users post. If someone doesn’t like what the other post said people flag the post. You will see a lot of this on the pet forum part of craigslist. I see a lot in my city’s Pet section. People have way to much time on their hands.

Ever wanted see inside Air Force One or Marine One

I am going to watch this on National Geographic tonight starting at 8 PM. It shows President Obama’s first flight on Air Force One before he was president. The next program is inside Marine One. This looks cool. These are the most maintained air craft on the planet. If you want to watch the program then it is going to be on the National Geographic channel. Make Money with Paid Posts

The easiest and fastest way to make money with your blog is through Paid Posts. You don’t even need a blog with a high page rank. It helps to have page rank but you don’t need it. It just needs to be an active blog and the blog has to be around for more then 6 months.

There is also a con for doing Paid posts. The con is that it will hurt your page rank if you care about it. It is a double edge sword you need page rank to get higher paid posts and it also hurts your page rank.
