Have You Created a QR Bar code Business Card?

You are probably thinking what is a QR Barecode? A Quick Response Or a QR Barecode is a two-dimensional code that has data inside of the barcode which can be text, url, or other data. You will see the barcode as a square. The first time I saw it was when my realtor gave me his business card.

It was first created by a Japanese company. They are all over Japan but they are now becoming popular in the United States. What I did was create one of these for my information at work. It is like a little business card that someone can scan onto their smart phone.

If you wanted to create one of the QR Barcode then head over to http://zxing.appspot.com/generator/ or to http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ if the other site is down. You can download the barcode so you can install onto any medium that you want. At work I just pasted the image into my signature in Outlook.

You will then need a scanning program on your smartphone. On my Android phone I have installed Barcode Scanner and QR Droid which they are both free to use. They work great for scanning. I sent myself an email witht he bar code image and these two applications picked it right up.

Storm Lab Mix Playing with Toys

Here is another video of my dog Storm playing with his toys. He loves the ball and the squeaky toy that is in the video. He will go chase the toys and brings them back to you. He has always been good with his toys. I gave him a rope and he shredded that and there were pieces all over the place in the office.

Have You Done a Self Help Clinic For IT Related Questions at Your Work

So the other day my manager sent out a document about a Self Help Clinic for people that have IT related questions about our hospital technology services. If they need help remoting in on their laptop, phones, etc. I think it is a good idea but I don’t want them to think it is computer repair clinic for their personal devices.

The management needs to be behind us and say it is their judgement call on what goes on in these clinics. You need to know what the expectations of your manager are and what is the expectations of the users are going to get out it. We are going to trial this for couple of months to see how it works, and if the employees think it is worth wild thing.

Maybe you should do a 2 hour clinic on questions that you get most on. What do you think about this service?

Do you wake up in the morning feeling tired before you even start your day? One of my friends has this problem and it turned out to be dust mites. Sometimes, living in an apartment or near a busy street can cause dust to build up in your home. Encasing your mattress can help cut down on the dust in your bedroom.

Mattress covers provide protection against dust mites, mold, pet dander, bed bugs, and other bad stuff. Simply encase your mattress and put your sheets over the mattress encasing for complete protection. This could be a cheap solution for you to try.

How To Install Your Corporate Exchange Email On Motorola Droid X

To add Corporate Sync / Exchange accounts:

Open Applications tray, select My Accounts

Select Add Account
You will be at the Set-Up accounts menu with several other social network icons.
Tap on Corporate Sync

You will need the below information to setup an Exchange Account on your phone:

Enter: Domain name\user name: Domain\Username
Enter Password: Network Password
Use secure server should be checked.
Enter Email address: Your work Email Address
Enter Exchange Server Address: exchange server of your work

You will need to setup a PIN Code for Security on your cell phone if you work has this feature setup on the exchange server

Tap on Next to submit settings. Handset will check with server and verify if successful. If screen turns black (based on your display timeout setting), just tap the power button or Back hard key.

You will need to review and adjust your exchange settings after set-up to make sure you have the appropriate sync settings to get email. Select the Corporate Sync account you wish to modify. Your Corporate exchange account settings will be displayed

Motorola Droid FRG83G System Update

This morning my Motorola Droid wanted to do a system update to FRG83G. It didn’t take that long to do the update. It looks like people started to receive the update on the 9th.

FRG83G is a small download when I downloaded it. After the download I had to update bunch of my apps that were installed on my phone. It is suppose to fix a text messaging bug.

Monster Jam 2011 At the Carrier Dome

I went to go see Monster Jam yesterday at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, NY. There was over 30,000 people that went to it last night. I have to say it was very cool to watch. Here is a slide show and a YouTube video, but I have more videos on my Youtube Channel. There is also over 200 pictures. The only thing I wish I did was bring my flip video to capture stuff in HD instead of using my Kodak Easy Share camera which only takes video in 640.

Getting Your Security Deposit Back From Renting

I was a renter for about 2 ½ years. My apartment was almost very clean and not dirty like some people that I know. This is the first step in getting your security deposit back. Don’t have a messy place and always clean it. You move out make sure you mop the floors, and vacuum the rugs.

I took pictures when I first moved in because I always read that you should take pictures in case the management company tries to say that you did this damage when it was there since you moved in. I was ready for that.

If you don’t receive your security deposit in a couple of weeks I would give the Management Company or owners to ask them what the holdup is. I did this and the person at the company said it hasn’t been printed. I just think it is weird that it takes three weeks to print a check but they can have your check in the bank within couple of days of them receiving it.

If you move out in bad terms don’t trash the place to get back at the Management Company or owners of the apartment. This can haunt you from renting from another place.

You should always ask your management company if they allow pets because if they don’t this can hurt you from getting your security deposit. When I bought my dog I called up the management company to ask them if they allowed pets. They told me no so I asked my parents if he could stay with them. I still bring him over during the day so he can play with my parents dog Luna.

I got enough money saved up and I bought a house. I think in the long run it is a great choice. I have a place that is mine to do what I want, and I can have pets if I want. I can have parties where my friends can come over. My mortgage payments are only $796 where my rent was $670 a month. The difference in the monthly payments are $126 and I also have other fees like taxes, gas, water and home insurance to pay but I think it is very well worth it.
