CommentLuv why you should install it

I think Commentluv is one of the best plugins to reward people that comment onto your blog. CommentLuv will link back to one of your reader’s last blog post. A visitor will see the post title and if it interests them then they will click on it. If your blog is a dofollow and you use commentluv then a lot of people will comment on your blog. This is a win win situation all around. To download the CommentLuv plugin you will need to go to comluv.com/download. You should also register your site by going to comluv.com/member.

CommentLuv was easy to install. It is like any other plugin that you download for your WordPress theme. You need to activate it and give it a try. If it doesn’t work it might be another plugin interfering with it or it could be your theme. On iblogplanet.com he couldn’t get CommentLuv to work because it was his theme. This is just an example what you need to look out for when installing Commentluv.

Here are some pictures of my settings that I use on my blog for CommentLuv.

commentluv_settings1

commentluv_settings2

I make it so when someone comments that CommentLuv is on checked by default so commentors don’t have to do anything and I also use the word CommentLuv Enabled instead of showing a graphic. I think the fewer graphics I use the better the loading times. You need to then enter your comment forms variables. It should be the standard ones unless you make your commenters do something different like entering another variable. Is CommentLuv enabled on your blog? Has it helped you to get more comments on your blog?

I do use commentluv plugin. It has really helped me in getting the traffic. Sometimes I do check my comment link to see whether anybody has clicked it or not. I saw many people talking about commentluv. Unfortunately in my case it is not very helpful as I comment via mobile (it doesn’t link to my post). I thought of bringing this point to commentluv developers. I hope they will come up with some solution.

I totally agree, CommentLuv is a great plugin and I highly recommended it in most cases. Even at my blog which both has CommentLuv and do-follow, I see a bunch of comments and I don’t mind giving the link back, as I value comments and inputs.

But I wonder why the commentluv checkbox cannot be as left alligned as the “notify me of follow up comments via email” checkbox is, I see you have the same problem here.

Personally I think there seem to be a big misconception on CommentLuv. A lot of blog promote their CommentLuv while they are nofollow. If they are nofollow the whole point of using CommentLuv disappears, even though I agree with you that you can get some traffic through it.

CommentLuv is great whether your blog is dofollow or nofollow. The point is that the next commentator can see the previous comment that was left and their last blog post. It can attract more visitors if catchy title’s are used.

The idea behind CommentLuv and every plugin like them is to reward your commenters. They take the time to read your article and respond to it, adding much more value to your posts than you could ever do on your own, and so you reward them for it.

  12. Greg EllisonNo Gravatar (212 comments.) on September 1st, 2009 5:32 pm

CommentLuv is there to reward your visitors, but if you have a dofollow blog I think the is just iceing on the cake. It is a whole package.

@Hesham – I think you need to put me on your RSS Reader twice one for being commentluv blog and one for a dofollow blog.

CommentLuv is great however you tend to get a lot more comments from low ranking sites that will pull down the value of your domain since in theory you are linking to them and Google does look at outbound links to in your overall ranking.

I have been using it on many of my sites, but I think I am just going to stop taking comments all together or at least not offer any links in the comments.

I have gotten into the “Do Follow” or “No Follow Free” movement, I didn’t even know that links in comments were not followed by the bots! Now I do, and I did something about it! I have tried many plugins one one of my site for making the comment experience better for my visitors, some have worked, some haven’t, but you can rest assured, I have tried most, if not all of them!

I’m just learning about keywordluv and commentluv. I do not think I can use them on my blog because it is a blogspot blog but I have removed nofollow. Seems to be the best that I can do at the moment.

Yeah you got it right. This will really boost up your traffic since some of the bloggers appreciate it if their blog will also got link where they leave their comments, specially if their blogs are on the same categories.

Nice plugin indeed but i made a mistake, since i redirected my feed to feedburner i didn’t notice that i don’t gain a link commenting on blogs using this plugin. Everyone who is redirecting his feed should change Feedburner settings and turn off Item Click Links
