How to get sign ups to your mailing list

On June 3rd will be a month with Aweber. In that one month I created two mailing lists. I created one for this blog and I also created a list for my dad’s web site. I have a total of 47 people sign up to both lists. I think that is pretty good for a month. Here are the things that I have been trying to get people to sign up.

Give something to your readers
You want to give something to your readers this can be an e-book, free cash, a WordPress theme, etc. It has to be something that your readers want. I made two e-books for people that sign up to my mailing list. Some of my readers are in need of help with Bart PE. So created a how to guide on installing Bart PE and getting it to work with Ghost. I also created another e-book on how to setup a WordPress blog.

Make them think they are missing out on something
On my fathers blog I have it so that they should sign up so they will be the first ones to get updates to my fathers software. My father is in the Ham Radio niche and he writes software for the ham radio. People are really interested in when there is an update to the different software.

The forms that you create will help attract people to sign up to your list. You can create your own forms. You can use the default forms that Aweber gives you. You can create different hover boxes on when a new visitors comes to your website.

Your blog commentors can help also. If you get people commenting on your blog you can convert them to being subscribers to your list. There is a free WordPress plugin that will help you with this. The free plugin is called Aweber WordPress Plugin. You can also get a paid plugin called Action Comments
