You can find traffic anywhere

I did a post called Links around the internet. It looks like people love link love kind of posts. Here is a screen shot of the websites that brought people to the post.

I wasn’t expecting cnn being one of the top referrers to the post but I was on the top list of blogs linking back to the story. Here is the screen shot of that.

You can see how track backs help spread your post so you reach greater audience of visitors. CNN probably helped with Google, Bing picking up the post also. Twitter can help also for bringing in visitors, and when you comment and if they use Commentluv people might be interest in the post. Track backs and where you are linking to will help you bring in visitors also. What do you think about this?

Looks like the google visitors are the ones spending most time on your site, where the cnn visitors are gone again extremely fast – I assume it’s the “time spent on site” column in the middle.

In Sweden this is a common method to attract visitors. Sites linking back to as many news articles as possible just to shown in the sidebar as a trackback.

Usually they have something like this in the end of their post, with every number being a link:
    1 2 3 4 5 6 7

I do not know if this old way still work. I already used tracback to get some traffic 2 year ago in my local language blog.

I am still a newbie blogger so I am confused. You just linked to the CNN story and they linked back to you automatically under their trackbacks?

It’s really cool Greg that CNN got so many visitors to your blog. I was wondering why they didn’t stay for longer. Anyways, I am sure you would figure it out & make the necessary changes.
I am really impresssed to see how you are making excellent use of your research to grow as well as to make the posts from it. I think its really smart.

That is correct Brad. I linked to a story and they put my trackback at the bottom. Greg Ellison
