Your blog isn’t working right!!!

design-sucks

When you put your blog or website together you should be looking at the page with mulitple browser to make sure they are working. I will look at the page in Internet Explorer, Mozilla, and Safari. If it passes those then I think I am good. You could also try Opera, and Chrome.

There are websites where you can try the page on multiple browsers with click of the mouse and different resolutions also. I think this is awesome because some people design doesn’t work in 800 x 600 because they just design the website for higher resolution monitors like 1024 or 1280. You need to be worried about the different sizes. You should be looking at your stats to see what kind of browsers and the resoltuion that your visitors are going to. One website where you can look at different operating systems, and different browsers is called www.browsershots.org. Are you guys looking at your blog on different resolutions and browsers?

Here are some other browser compatibility testing website:

It’s a great information. I’ve got to check the compatibility of my blogs on different browsers! Thanks for the links and tips Greg :)

Wow, tried browsershots and found that there are 3 browsers in which my blog appear as blank! And there’s one in which the PNG images work like IE6. Thankfully, my blog works nicely with IE8 and Firefox, the 2 browsers that really matter (at least to me), although I’m gradually letting go of IE in favor of Firefox.

This is great advice, I still can’t fix my worldofprandria.com blog so that the sidebar shows in Internet Explorer, yet it works in Chrome and FireFox. I keep trying to tweak it when I have time, but no succes at all.

    Greg,

There’s a fairly new site out there that allows one to look at their site in multiple resolutions and browsers. It’s called ViewLikeUs. Seems like it might be a useful one.

I never heard of browserhsots but I’ve tried it just now and its cool. I’m still waiting for the screenshots but I think this is most helpful for bloggers and webmasters.

On the other hand, viewlikeus just deals with the resolution…so if you are only after screen resolution of your readers then this is for you.
