How to check your stats?
I saw this question posted on a forum. If you want to check your stats on your website then you need some kind of application that will gather everything about you visitors for you. I use Google Analytics to keep an eye on my website stats. With these kinds of services you can tell a whole lot about your visitor. Google Analytics gives you a lot of information about your visitor and that is why I like it so much. Google Analytics is also free and you are not limited at what you can see like other stat counter places.
With Google Analytics you get a tracking code from them all you have to do is put on your front page of your website. If you have a blog I like to put the code on the footer page because WordPress includes the footer page on all the pages that it renders.
To signup for Google Analytics then Click Here
Your web host might give you access to a stats software called AWSTATS. This is a pretty good alternative to Google Analytics. I would use Google Analytics and AWSTATS to sift through the data to get the big picture. You can’t just use one stats application.

Block unwanted users from posting on your blog
Do you have bots that spam your blog. Well I have a way to block the users that spam your blog. I had some that spamed one of my blogs. They would post with the same name and ip address.
Here are the steps to block those pesky users.
- Login into WordPress admin section.
- Click on Settings from the dashboard.
- Click on discussion settings.
- Enter the IP address in the Comment Blacklist to block it.
- Click on save button for changes to apply.

Changed my feedburner to google accounts
I waited for a long time for them to do this. Nothing has changed it just redirects to Google’s services instead of feedburner. I am trying to setup Adsense for Feeds but it doesn’t look like it is working so I have to look into that some more.

How to speed up your Wordpress blog
There are different ways to increase the speed of your WordPress blog. I would start with your plugins and deactivate all of them. You want to check the speed of your blog without the plugins. After you are done checking the speed of your blog without the plugins then you want to activate the plugins one by one.
I would also check your theme maybe it is slowing your blog down. I would comepare the time from the theme that you are using to a theme that originally came with the WordPress install without plugins. To see how long it takes.
You also want to download a plugin for Mozilla called Firebug. This will show the number of requests to the website and the speed in which it downloaded it. This is a very good visual. I also tried to clear the internet explorer temp files, history, and cookies, but it didn’t help.
The plugins that slowed my admin section down was my flickr plugins which it uses light box. I don’t use flickr anymore but I just deactivated them and if I start to use flickr again I will search for an updated version. How many people had a slowness in their blogs?
It is very easy to rack up the plugins that you have in your blog. I also deleted all my inactive plugins because I haven’t used them in such a long time. It is probably good idea to delete old themes that you don’t use anymore. It is a good idea maybe do a routine clean up of your plugins, and themes once a month so your website doesn’t get bloated with files.

Highest Click in Google Adsense and ramblings
Today I looked in my Google Adsense and saw a $1.07 click. This is my highest click ever. I am on call for the week of October 6 - October 12 because I took the on call week of one of the guys that went on vacation. He is going to take my on call. I talked about this yesterday about the computer that wasn’t restarting, shutting down, or log off of the computer. I have never seen this before. I didn’t get any response from anybody that had this issue.
Here is the screen shot of the $1.07 click.

Be your own person
You should be your own person on your blog but don’t follow the main stream. I still read the main streams blogs to see what they are doing but I do my own thing. Your blog is your place. You don’t have to take courses on how to blog or how to make money online. It is all free and available to you.
If you are new to blogging please take a look at my e-book it is free and you don’t have to sign up for anything. If you want to read it then Click Here. Please review it and give me feedback on it.
You don’t have to be confined to one niche on a blog. If you want to be you can have multiple blogs. My blog I can talk about multiple topics because it is a personal blog, but I have other blogs.

Blogging is a life style
When you don’t have time to post and your life is getting hectic you should still post. You should write your ideas down. This will leave you with post ideas. You should also have posts ready to be published so it doesn’t take a lot of your time. It will only take a few seconds to hit that publish button on your blog.
I like to come up with posts on the fly and see where it leads me. Some people have a procedure when they make a post. When you create a blog it doesn’t have to be hard. Blogging should be fun, exciting, entertaining, and informative. My post schedule is once a day or maybe more then one a day if time permits. This is my rant for the day.

My E-book on How to create a WordPress Blog
I created a post on Digital point forums and asked people to review it. I got two replies and they didn’t really say anything about the content but that I was wrong about you can’t make money on free blogs. There are 8 pages of text and you guys are fixed on one sentence. I know I was wrong in that statement so i redid that section. I have to reupload, but before I do that I have to find the free PDF creator program that I had.
I found a free PDF Creator Program. Here is version 1.1 of the E-book.

How long does it take you to do a post
I usually just write a post in the morning and hit the publish button and it goes live. I don’t come up with an idea and sit on the idea for couple of days to fine tune it or anything like that. I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing but it is my style. Sometimes I will write and save for the next day to publish.

This makes linkes on my sites Search Engine friendly where search engines will want to follow them. Please comment with relevant comments and please subscribe to my RSS feed.
