Be your own person
You should be your own person on your blog but don’t follow the main stream. I still read the main streams blogs to see what they are doing but I do my own thing. Your blog is your place. You don’t have to take courses on how to blog or how to make money online. It is all free and available to you.

You don’t have to be confined to one niche on a blog. If you want to be you can have multiple blogs. My blog I can talk about multiple topics because it is a personal blog, but I have other blogs.

Blogging is a life style
When you don’t have time to post and your life is getting hectic you should still post. You should write your ideas down. This will leave you with post ideas. You should also have posts ready to be published so it doesn’t take a lot of your time. It will only take a few seconds to hit that publish button on your blog.
I like to come up with posts on the fly and see where it leads me. Some people have a procedure when they make a post. When you create a blog it doesn’t have to be hard. Blogging should be fun, exciting, entertaining, and informative. My post schedule is once a day or maybe more then one a day if time permits. This is my rant for the day.

My E-book on How to create a WordPress Blog
I created a post on Digital point forums and asked people to review it. I got two replies and they didn’t really say anything about the content but that I was wrong about you can’t make money on free blogs. There are 8 pages of text and you guys are fixed on one sentence. I know I was wrong in that statement so i redid that section. I have to reupload, but before I do that I have to find the free PDF creator program that I had.

How long does it take you to do a post
I usually just write a post in the morning and hit the publish button and it goes live. I don’t come up with an idea and sit on the idea for couple of days to fine tune it or anything like that. I don’t know if that is a good thing or a bad thing but it is my style. Sometimes I will write and save for the next day to publish.

My Blog is a Dofollow blog
Hey everyone I just installed a WordPress plugin called dofollow. What this plugin does is it converts my blog to a dofollow blog. This makes linkes on my sites Search Engine friendly where search engines will want to follow them. Please comment with relevant comments and please subscribe to my RSS feed.

Update your blog frequently
You should always update your blog on the schedule that you set when you first started to blog. I update my blog every day. One post a day I think will keep the blog with fresh constant blog posts. I like to write about my life, my work, what happening on the internet, and how to make money. This blog is not set to one niche. I have a lot of room to come up with posts about wide array of topics.

Find the Most Critical Plug-ins for your blog
There are a lot of plugins available for WordPress. You can go to www.wordpress.org and find the plugin directory. In this section I am going to list out the most critical plugins that a new blogger will want.
I think the first plugin that you should download is called Wordpress Automatic Upgrade. This plugin saves you time when you have to update your blog.
The second plugin that is critical to your blog is Google XML Sitemaps. This plugin will help build sitemaps of your site that is compatible with Google, MSN, yahoo, and ASK.com.
The third plugin is called Akismet. This plugin is already installed by default but you have to get a free API key from WordPress.com. This plugin catches all spam that your blog will get.
The fourth plugin is called All in one SEO pack. This plugin will help with your search engine optimization. You want to get ranked in search engines so this plugin will help with that.
If you want to deliver ads on your website then you want to download Adsense Manager. This plugin will Control and arrange your AdSense & Referral blocks on your Wordpress blog.
If you are using FeedBurner to track your RSS subscriber then you want to download FeedBurner FeedSmith.
I think this is a good list to start out with. I would go to your favorite blogs and see what kind of plugins they are using.

Dofollow Link building
If you have a website or blog you want to find a websites that matches your niche. These websites will allow you to add links in your comments. They can not be nofollow link. What nofollow means is it is telling the search engines don’t follow this link.
The html code will look like < a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.gregellison.net">Greg Ellison< / a >
You want to look for html code that looks like < a href="http://www.gregellison.net">Greg Ellison< / a > which is telling the Search engines to follow this link.
You can find dofollow websites by searching on Google or finding lists that people have created. I have been commenting on blogs that do Dofollow hopefully it will do something with my backlinks and page rank.

Add YouTube video on your blog
Do you want to know how to add a YouTube video on your blog? Well I have the answer for you. You can download a plugin for your WordPress blog called Youtube Brackets. You can download it at Downloads.wordpress.org. Once you are done downloading the plugin you need to upload it to your plugin directory. The plugins directory is located in the following folder wp-content/plugins/. When you are done uploading the YouTube Brackets plugin then head over to the plugins section and activate the plugin.
Then when you have a YouTube video that you want to include in your post just add the following code to your post [ youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxObT_BT1EU ]. Make sure that you don’t include the spaces by the brackets. It is that simple. This is how I add video to my blog posts. You can see the post that has the video in it. WordPress 2.6.1 is out!!
Everyone WordPress has put a new version of their blogging software. This version is their maintenance release. It is release after a major release like 2.6.0. You can download the automatic WordPress Wordpress Automatic Upgrade plugin to do the upgrade. It is very easy and fast to upgrade.
2.6.1 offers several improvements for international users. Styling of the admin for right-to-left languages is much improved thanks to the efforts of the Farsi and Hebrew translation teams, and a mysterious gettext bug caused by certain PHP configurations is now fixed. For IIS users, 2.6.1 fixes several permalink problems. Image insertion problems in the Press This feature experienced by IE users are also fixed. Of note to everyone is a fix for a performance bug in the admin where those with a lot of plugins would experience slowness on some pages.
