Father’s Day Gift Ideas for the frugal person

Here are 4 Father’s Day Gift ideas that you can’t go wrong with. They are for the frugal person that doesn’t like to spend their money. I think these gifts are more personal to give to your dad. Like I did for Mother’s Day I will probably do the same. I just gave my mom a card and $20 so she and my dad can go out a listen to some music on a Saturday night.

1. Make him a Father’s day card

You don’t need to spend money on your father because he would enjoy a hand made card that says I love you dad. You made the card it didn’t come from the store. You can also add couple of scratch off or something. Atleast the card came from your heart and not on a store rack.

2. You can cook him dinner

What father wouldn’t want their kids to cook him a dinner and clean up after the dinner. Your mother would even enjoy this so she wouldn’t have to do any of it.

3. Wash his car

You can wash your familys cars so your father wouldn’t have to. All you have to do for this gift is too buy soap and rag. You probably can find all of this in your garage where your dad stores that kind of stuff.

4. Yard Service

This will be easy for you to do yard work for your dad. Your dad would be happy because he doesn’t have to do this. I always like to ride the riding lawn mower when I lived at my parents house and I also loved to go the top speed when doing the lawn. What fun times it was to do the lawn.

Jon and Kate Announcement Spoiler

I think I was right when I wrote my first post about Jon and Kate. If you want to read my first post that I did then Click Here. I said I think they are probably getting a divorce. So again I think thier announcement is going to be that they are getting a divorce. What do you think their announcement is going to be?

Update
I watched the show and jon and kate did file for divorce so guess what I was right about the announcement. If they are not happy then that is good that they separated. In another retrospect that it is bad for the children because they don’t have the two parents in the house. Do you think the show should end now? I would think they would talk to some councilors first, but I guess they didn’t.

Digital TV is in, and Analog TV is out

Is everyone ready for the digital TV transition? I am all set I have digital cable so I don’t have to worry about it. Analog TV is going bye bye tomorrow. You can get the digital-converter boxes at your local chain stores like walmart and best buy. You can purchase your digital converter box on your own, or with the help of the TV Converter Box Coupon Program. You can apply for the DTV coupons at www.dtv2009.gov, and fill out the information so they will send you the coupon. Your local TV stations will probably have a phone banks setup so people can call in and ask questions about the transition.

4 Ways To Get Respect From Your Peers

1. Be an active participant in your niche

If they see you being active in your niche and they like what you have to say they will respect you. If there is buzz around you then more people will start to notice you. You can be active on forums and other blogs. When you comment on other users blog please have a meaningful comment or people will think you are spamming their blog and you won’t get respect that way. When you comment on other blogs you should be using your name so people will recognize you. I always use Greg Ellison for the name.

2. Don’t be an ass

People don’t like a pompous ass. If they perceive you as being an asshole no one will come and visit your blog. You want to respect others and they will respect you. You shouldn’t make other bloggers made and also don’t make your blog visitors made. They are your bread butter. The other bloggers can help you succeed in the online world.

3. Be confident in your ability

You want to walk a fine line. You don’t want to be perceived as an ass, but you still want to be confident in your ability so people will think of you as an authority figure in your niche. You don’t want to say oh I can’t do it. You can do it!!

4. Help other people that need help

You want to help people so again they will think of you a authority figure in your niche. If a visitor or another blog author asks for help give him or her some pointers. You can point them into the right direction.
If someone asks for help I would give them pointers or will help them to find what they are looking for.

USB Audio Adaptor for my Mac

My Mac doesn’t have an MIC in jack. I had to go and buy one. It showed up right away as a CMEDIA CM119 USB Stereo sound. I did a test screencast and it works excellent for what I want to do with it. The price I got it for was $7.99 and $2.99 shipping for a final price of $10.98. Here is a link to buy the USB Audio Adaptor that I got. I got it at Newegg, but Amazon has it for $10.98 with free shipping. I think this is a better price price because your shipping might be more at Newegg.

The New Iphone 3GS

If you want to get the older model of the iphone you can get them pretty cheap, but if you are a current subscriber and want to upgrade to the new Iphone 3GS it is going to cost you. For a new AT&T customer, the iPhone 3GS will cost $199 for the 16GB or $299 for the 32GB but the price that current customers will have to pay is $699 or $599 for the comparable models of iPhone 3GS.

The new phone has a faster processor. You can also cut, copy and paste. This should have been in version 1 and 2 of the Iphone. There is a compass now. There is a video and better camera. It is a 3 Mega pixel and auto focus. I think the Iphone should have had a video camera, because all other cell phones have a video feature. The battery life is a lot better. It will give you longer life. There is a good voice command feature also.

Google Trends and Yahoo Buzz

I am on Google Trends almost everyday looking at what people are searching for. Does that make me weird? I don’t know but it is cool. Google Trends and Yahoo Buzz will help you come up with new post ideas. Here is a list of the top 5 trends that are on Google Trends right now. The time is 10:53 PM and the date is 6/5/2009.

These were on a show today called Don’t Forget the Lyrics hosted by Wayne Brady. If you just write a post about them you are going to be amazed at the results. I did this couple of different times and was amazed. If you read the ebook The Winning Way Internet Marketing Checklist v1.pdf from www.winningtheweb.com. In one of the chapters it talks about finding new keyword apportunities using Google Trends. I think Google Trends is pretty cool. What does everyone else think?

David Carradine Found Dead

It is a shame that they found him dead in his hotel room in Bangkok Thailand. He was best known for 1970s television series “Kung Fu.” He has had a long acting career. His hole family is also a very big acting family. He will surely be missed. If you love his work in Kung Fu then why don’t you buy the Kung Fu – The Complete Series Collection DVD.

How are your users and visitors?

In my day job I am in a customer service role. I deal with all of the computer problems, printers, and faxes that are at my work. The users can be really dumb at times. I think this can also be said for our users which are the visitors. If it weren’t for the users and visitors where would we be? Sometimes they can be nice and sometimes they can be really mean.

This post was started because I got a email from a user saying I didn’t download any ebooks. When someone signs up to my Aweber Email Newsletter I will send them a confirmation email and then after they confirm their subscription I will send them a thank you email with links to download my two ebooks. I will wait 4 days to send them another email asking how the two ebooks were and do they have any suggestions for me. The visitor writes I did not download any ebooks. Guess this person didn’t read my emails. This person also unsubscribed to my Email Newsletter. I don’t think the user would really like the ebooks that I wrote anyways. This user commented on Jon and Ktt plus 8 post and the ebooks are about internet and technology related so it is OK.

What can you do about your users and visitors

If they have any questions you can teach them. You can answer your users questions in lamen terms and not techy lingo. You should learn how to convey things in lamen terms. When do you stop teaching a user or visitor? What I mean by that is if they go to you multiple times about the same question. If they have the same question over and over again I would make up some sort of guide with pictures for the user. The users love pictures. You need to be really good at writing guides for the end users or they will still be lost. With our visitors we can’t remote into their computer to show them what we mean. You always need to do be nice to your users. Don’t ever get upset with them on the phone or in person. When you are off the phone and in your office you can say what you mean to your self.

CBS Cancels The Unit

I just learned that they canceled the Unit which was on CBS. That was a really good show. The series features the talents of Dennis Haysbert, Regina Taylor, Audrey Marie Anderson, Robert Patrick, Max Martini, Abby Brammell, Michael Irby, Scott Foley, Demore Barnes, Alyssa Shafer, Danielle Hanratty, Kavita Patil, and Rebecca Pidgeon.

The show was created by director and writer David Mamet. It was on for 4 seasons. Which that is a good run. I think this kind of sucks. I liked The Unit and NCIS that were on Tuesdays. I hope they don’t axe NCIS. Does anyone else watch this show?
