New Facebook Design

The other day I was looking on Facebook and saw that they changed the design of the website. I saw some comments that people don’t like the design of it. I think it is pretty good design. What do you think about it?

What I like about it is that you don’t have the bar at the bottom anymore everything is on the left hand side. You can see what friend is online. There is better notifications on friend request, messages, and notifications. I just like all around.

Facebook Games

I hate getting these annoying facebook messages that want to play all the games that your friends are playing. I got this picture in my notification area yesterday that I haven’t seen before.

The one that I haven’t seen before was the button that says stop these invites. I think more games or I think it should be Facebook wide thing. I only have seen it with this one game but no other games have that button. It gets really annoying when you see almost all of your notifications asking you to join in a game. What does everyone think about the games and should it be Facebook wide?

Thanksgiving Coloring Sheets

I think it is a must thing for kids to learn about the different holidays that we have. I think if they do something fun they will retain the information, and what better way to learn then to color some Thanksgiving coloing sheets.

Google Wave Application

So I got a Google Wave Account but I haven’t really used it. I thought it was going to be a cool thing but really you need to know people that have it. If anyone that has one if they want to talk to see how this works then my Google wave account address is gregee@googlewave.com if you want to add me.

The interface looks nice and friendly to use. There are different third party extensions that you can use that will do different things. There is Twitter, calculator, other kinds. It uses your Google Contacts heavily so if you don’t have a lot of people then you will be like me and not use it. The people that have one what do you think about it? I think the concept is good, and it can be a good collaboration application for people but I don’t think this is a day to day IM kind of application. Your thoughts on what it is good for?

Searching For A Job?

When I got out of college and starting in the real world it was hard for me to find a job. I did contracting for a year and two months, but I still couldn’t find a job. The place that I did my internship at said they were hiring and they wanted me to interview for the position. I have been at my current job for a year 9 months. I was hired in March 2008. When I did my IT job search I looked on the common website that most people do, but it came down to networking. They liked me because they new what they were getting and knew how I worked. It all worked out in the end. Where I live now it is very hard to find a IT job.

The contracting jobs that I got they found my resume on monster. I took one job but only stayed about a week because it was about an hour worth of traveling and I couldn’t do that. They had couple of other contracting jobs that worked out. One place where I got a contracting job I stayed about a year and right before I got my job now I was at a 1 month contract. How did you find your current job?

Facebook Scam

Here is a screen shot of a facebook scam that I have been getting in one of my email accounts. It looks like a real email from facebook, but if you hover over the link it goes to a UK site. I bet this gets a lot of people because people don’t realiz that facebook will never do this. I just wanted to let you know and don’t click on it.

I also get email scams that say they are from a shipping company and that I need to pick up a package. I also get emails from the IRS wanting me update some type of information. They just go into my junk email. It seems like it is increasing a lot.
