Tweeting to much?
Why is Twitter so addictive to people? They use twitter on their phone, at home. You will see on the news one day that someone got into an accident because they were on twitter. I see it as it is becoming an obsession for people. I use twitter just to broadcast my post from my blog. It helps to get traffic to this blog but that’s all. I think Twitter is a good idea but people are taking it way to serious. They are on it every single day. People say that Twitter is easy to use only. It gives you 140 characters so no drown out sentences. Is Twitter going to be a fade like everything that is popular once?
Twitter can also save your life. Look at the guy that used twitter saying he was captured and people helped get him and his interpreter free. So there are good things that can come out of it. People just need to calm down and don’t use it to much.

Do you like spyware?
I was reading an article on yahoo that says 57.8 million potentially harmful programs were not removed because the users like spyware or don’t know how to get ride of it. 71.7 million potentially harmful programs were removed by the users. The total number was 129.5 million potentially unwanted programs detected by the MSRT. This is why we are still employed because users are being complacent or don’t want to know how to get ride of this stuff.
The most prevalent rogue security software that was detected was Win32/Winfixer. What Winfixer does it tells the users that they have been infected with spyware and that they should pay money to download their spyware program to get ride of it. There are tones of free anti spyware programs out there. The other spyware that are plaguing people are search tool bars and they are HotBar and ZangoSearchAssistant. Also users are downloading Trojan downloader’s.

I just bought a new domain from godaddy. They are having a deal on .99 .info domains. I think you can’t go wrong if you want a domain. It came up to be like $1.19 with all the fees attached. If I don’t get a lot of visitors or I don’t do anything with it I will probably sell it or I won’t renew it with godaddy.com.

How much is your blog worth?
When I was reading 45n5.com he has a list on what some of the tops blogs are worth. It is a pretty cool list. He also has a list of how much some blogs have been sold for. If you take $18.42 multipply it by your RSS feeder count and you get the price of your blog. So my blog is worth 165.78.
One guy that just bought a blog called onemansgoal.com for $10,000. He has never ran a blog or used wordpress. His he stupid like people are saying. I don’t know but he has a lot of comments on his video that he made and the word is getting around.

How not to get spam

Here are some tips on how not to get spam. I use some of these tips myself. This post also goes along with my post from yesterday about the bayesian anti-spam program that I have been using for years.
- Instead of using your primary email you should be using secondary email account for signups on the web. You can use hotmail, gmail, yahoo. Most of the time your ISP will give you multiple email accounts.
- Don’t post your email address on web forms. You can right your email address like yourname+myisp.com instead of yourname@myisp.com. The bots will find your email and start spamiming you.
- You should be using a spam filter like the one that I wrote about yesterday. I use a program called SpamBayes. This is bayesian filter and it is on the client end. Some providers will have their own spam filtering and you should call them to see if they provide that.
- If you do get some spam don’t ever reply to it. If you reply to the email it tells the spammers that your address is valid. You just want to delete the email.
- You should not buy anything from the spam email that you receive because they can steal your information.

How to stop spammers on web sites
There are multiple techniques to use to stop spammers from spamming you if you post your email address on your website. The first technique is that you should be using forms with captchas, and the second technique is to encode your email address. Here is a website that has a form on its website to encode the email address. Captcha is a technique used to see if the visitor is really a human and not a spam bot. Captcha can be a question like what is 4+4 and the visitor would type 8, or you will see them as graphic with letters and numbers and the user has to type them into an input box.
