Blog income report for October 2008
Another month has passed so it is time for the income report. I was kind of late with this report. I usually do the blog income reports on the 1st or next day. This has been another great month in terms of visitors. I also made more this month then last month. Which is always nice.
The website yourfunnypic.info is doing really great. I had around 775 visitors. I think this is great because I only created this website at the end of September. I have been using social bookmarking sites exclusively on this website.
Here is the money part of the income report.
Google Adsense - $10.08
Payu2blog - $45.00
Adbrite - $0.12
Kontera - $0.42
Grand Total - $55.62

Here are the visitor stats for my blog Greg Ellison. I am very proud of these because I broke another record. I commented on a lot of blogs this month just like September. I still need to keep on doing this. I also used social bookmarking sites for some of the posts.

How to Promote your website
If you want to get any where with your website you need good promotion on your website. There are different ways to promote your website that I am going to go through.
1. Comment on other blogs
I think this is one of the best and easiest ways to promote your blog. All you need to do is write a sentence or two that is relievent about the post on the other blog. You don’t want to spam the other blog with nonsense crap.
2.Use social bookmarking sites
Another simple method to promote your website is social bookmarking websites. You can use digg, reddit, Stumbleupon, and Del.icio.us. There are plenty more. On your blog add a plugin that adds these websites as buttons so you or your readers can use them to submit your website to the social bookmarking websites.
3. Use forums
Forums is similiar to posting on other blogs. All you have to do is post on the forums and add your website link in your signature. If you made a releavant post about a topic you can add your blog url in the post.
4.Online video sharing websites
If you are good at making videos you can post videos about different topics and post them online. You can use the videos to plug your website. The biggest website that you can post at is YouTube, but there plenty more websites that you can post your video at.
5.Social networking sites
You can use social networking sites to promote your website. You can use facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, and myspace. I have seen great success with facebook, and twitter. With facebook I created a group for one of my websites and the group has over 500+ members on it. With Twitter, I have my feed from this website going to it. I got 26 visitors from Twitter this month.

Blog income report for September 2008
Another month has passed so it is time for income report. I just want to say that this month has been great. I broke a record this month. The record that I broke was getting visitors to the site. I have been commenting on other people’s blogs, forum posts, and social bookmarking sites. I also have been getting a lot search engine traffic. One great keyword that has been getting me traffic is dell inspiron 6000 os recovery post that you can see here.
I also made an experiment to see how many visitors can I get to this website. The website is yourfunnypic.info. I had around 79 visitors. This is pretty good since this website is only couple of weeks old. I have been using social bookmarking sites exclusively on this website.
Here is the money part of the income report.
Google Adsense - $2.14
Payu2blog - $50.00
Adbrite - $0.06
Kontera - $0.55
Grand Total - $52.75
It is not bad but it is less then last month’s income report which is ok. I am proud at getting more people to the blog.

How you can get fast traffic to your website
I talked about this yesterday that social bookmarking websites do work. What you want to do is buy a cheap domain. I can’t stress this enough you should go and buy a .info domain from www.GoDaddy.com . They have a promotion and they are only $1.69. You can’t go wrong.
If you don’t have web hosting account like I do then you should get web hosting from HostGator because they have Unlimited Domain Hosting Only $9.95 a Month. This way you can host bunch of different websites on your account like I do.
Once you found your domain that you want and web hosting just come up with interesting articles, pictures to put on the website and just submit them to the social bookmarking websites like digg, stumbleUpon, and reddit. If you have a WordPress blog like I do you can get plugins that will put buttons on your website so you can submit your posts or your visitors can. I use a plugin called Sociable.

This traffic is junk traffic, but it s a numbers game. I think more visitors that come to your website the more they will click on ads and make you money. Time will tell if this is going to work.

Social bookmarking sites do work!!!
I setup a new site called yourfunnypic.info. I bought the domain for 1.69. That has been my investment. I put some funny pictures on the site. I then submitted the pictures to digg, stumbleupon, and reddit.com. With in two days I got 28 visits and 63 page views. That is pretty good stats for two days. This might be junk traffic but it may convert good. I need more time and we will see. Just wanted to let everyone know. I thought it was going to be hard to write something today.

I created a post on Digital point forums and asked people to review it. I got two replies and they didn’t really say anything about the content but that I was wrong about you can’t make money on free blogs. There are 8 pages of text and you guys are fixed on one sentence. I know I was wrong in that statement so i redid that section. I have to reupload, but before I do that I have to find the free PDF creator program that I had.

Blog income report for August 2008
It is time for another blog income report. I went up in Payu2blog earnings, but I went down in Google Adsense earnings, and Kontera earnings from last months earnings. You can read my blog income report for July 2008. Here is the monthly earnings from all of my sites.

Total $61.82
Here are my blog stats for August. I went up in visitors from last month. That is a good sign to see.

I need to increase my pagerank and increase the backlinks. I have been getting good SE traffic. I have also been getting good traffic from other bloggers website that I comment on. I had traffic from Twitter, and facebook.

How to install WordPress Phase 3
WordPress is one of the most popular blog platforms out there. WordPress is very easy to setup and you can find themes and plugins for WordPress.
You want to go to www.wordpress.org and click on the red square on the top right side that says download. You want to click on the red rectangle that is on the Download WordPress page. You want to download the file that fits your operating system. I will pick the zip file. You want to save the zip file to a location that you can get to. I usually scan my files that I download off the internet first. I have to plug the security part. You should always scan your files. I will open the zip file and extract it to a folder. I will then open my ftp program to upload my WordPress files to the directory that I picked for my multihosted domain. You also want to create a MySql database. I usually name my databases after my websites so I know what database goes to what website.
You then want to rename the wp-config-sample.php file to wp-config.php. You then want to fill in the database details.

define(’DB_USER’, ‘usernamehere’); // Your MySQL username
define(’DB_PASSWORD’, ‘yourpasswordhere’); // …and password
define(’DB_HOST’, ‘localhost’); // 99% chance you won’t need to change this value
These fields tell WordPress vital information about the database that you created. It wants to know the database name, the database user that has full access to the database, the password for the database user, and the database host.
After you have all these things done, then you want to open up your browser and go to yourblog.com/wp-admin/install.php to start the install process. At the first screen you want to type your Blog Title and your website email address.
After you type your title and your email then press Install WordPress button. The next screen is going to tell you that it was Successful at creating the blog and it will give you your username and password to get into the blog.
You should copy your password and then login to the blog. You want to change the temporary password right away before you forget it.
If you don’t want to go this route and if you have CPANEL with your webhosting you can use Fantastico. You can use Fantastico to automatically install any scripts that are listed in the menu.
