On Call Day Six
This was a busy Saturday for me. I called at 7:00 AM about jammed printer. I then had to reboot the canon print server because the canon copiers were not able to connect. I had a total of three the first call in. On the second call in I had a server that lost communication with the domain controller. I had to rejoin back onto the domain. After I did that the application started to work. I then a had laptop in ER that wouldn’t show the Java screens in their application so I had to reinstall Java. So that was my Saturday. How was your Saturday?

On Call Day Five
I ddin’t finish my PC Refresh. The patients were still in those two rooms. I did tickets all of friday. I also got the laptop finished with all drivers and xp loaded. On Monday all I have to do is load up all of the software for our images and make a ghost image. It will be fun. I didn’t get called in on Friday.

On Call Day Four
I didn’t do any of the refresh computers. I was doing tickets again. We got a shipment of laptops that need to prepped and ready. They are IBM R400 laptops. I had to download all of the drivers. I am still working on the laptop.
I got a call about one of the operations was getting you don’t have the right version of java. I told him he had to close out of all of his browsers and open it again. It worked for him. I then got another call at 1:30 AM about an PACS were running slow. I remember there was a problem that about a week ago and there was a job that hung up so I told operations to call the PACS Administrator. The PACS Administrator rebooted the server. I am going to try and get the last computers put in on Friday so I don’t have to worry about.
I also went to Bellavia Taxi company. They had a major fire in the garage of the building. They moved all of their computer equipment into their other building to get operations going again. I got their around 5 and stayed almost to 7. All of the computers and servers are up and working.

On Call Day Three
I got two computers done for PC refresh. The last two that I have there were patients in the rooms. I did tickets for the rest of the day. One ticket I got was for the same problem that the web app is running slow. I put in a loaner and took the computer. I checked the memory which came back fine. I am reprepping the computer. If it acts up I can say it is the web app or the network that is causing the issue. The bottleneck is that the computer is connected to a 10/100 mb switch and the uplink is 100 mb and all of the clients are connected at 100. This will give you a bottleneck. The web application can be a problem also. They have been rolling out new area of the application and they are putting more and more clients on it. At peak times this could slow it down. I don’t know what to think about it. The only thing I can do is check the desktop side of things and put in my recommendations.
The keyword of the day is diet pill.

On Call Day Two
I did two more computers for the PC refresh. I was going to do the 3rd but they put a patient in the room. I will try again to see if there are any rooms that I can get into. If I can’t get into any rooms then I am going to do tickets.
I got a call last night for problem over in the Prompt care but one of my supervisors saw the ticket and had already been talking to the user. It was a label printer that wasn’t working not the application or service attached to the application. He made a change on a printer that they use but he thought it was going to change a printer that he was working on not the one in prompt care.

On Call Day One
I didn’t get called in but I got a call at the last minute when I was at work. One of the computers at the ED was slow to them. It wasn’t the computer that was slow but the web app that they were using. I changed the port that they were on just to see if it made a difference. She said that it was a little better but when she hit the java windows there was a one second delay in loading them. I put in the ticket that Java is going to be slow loading anyways. It wasn’t a computer problem. It is a application issue or network issue.
I got like 5 computers in for the PC refresh but it is going to be slow going. These computers are in the patient rooms so I couldn’t do them if there was a patient. I loaded up this cart which is a flat cart like a gernie. I had one CRT monitor go flying off it and it broke the whole inside of it. I am glade that the monitor was going to be tossed. When I was off loading I had some of the new computers go flying off also. This was not a good day. I had one computer that didn’t want to start the application, and at the last second they were bringing in a patient but they had another room that the patient can go in.

On Call Day Five
We got all of the carts over to Madison Irving but We brought over to many of them. There was only suppose to be 4 carts and We brought over 7 carts. I brought over 3 carts to the POB surgery center. I still have to go over there and install the printer and configure the laptops to print to the printer. I finished the install of the application in the Library training room. We still have a bunch of carts to bring over to Marley so the nurses can train on them.
Here is a picture of the mobilecarts that We are installing. So everyone gets a better idea what they look like.

On Call Day Four
I screwed up my time sheet I never signed out when I went in on Wednesday. So the time program said I was absent on Thursday. We got all 22 laptops ready to go to their locations. We just have to finish 2 laptops and install software. I hate software when it takes 10 to 20 minutest to install it. On Friday We are going to move them to their locations and stage them. That way they can charge and be ready for assesments.
