Crouse Hospital and the New OR Rooms
Here are some pictures and a video of the new OR at Crouse Hospital. This is where I work. We installed three computers in each OR Room. There is a computer in the cabinet, on the nurses station and a wall mount. Each OR Room has state of the art equipment.

Here are some pictures that I took.
This is what the wall mount computer looks like. It is a Seneca Data Mini x10 with a 19″ monitor. This is the standard computer that we install.

In this pictures gives you view of the whole room. You can see the stryker equipment. Most of the rooms are the same.

This is the nurses station computer and the touchscreen Stryker monitor. The keyboard and mouse by the stryker touchscreen controls the computer in the cabinet. Which will be used to display PACS images for medical staff.

Each room gets a mini rack in the cabinet. They get a patch panel, 24 port network switch and a rack mountable UPS. In the cabinet in the lower shelves hold the stryker equipment and one of the mini computers.

Computer Update At Work

Yesterday I upgraded to a new computer at work. I installed windows 7 Professional 32 bit verison. I also installed 3 monitors.
The computer specs are the following:
Intel core 2 duo at 2.93 Ghz
Memory: 2 GB
Hard Drive: 160 GB
I really like it. I also run Windows 7 at home so I am some what use to it. I just think because we deal with hardware in our department should get the first crack at windows 7. I am part of a group within the IT department deals with all of the computers, fax machines, printers, and some servers. There are going to be some programs that are not going to work with windows 7. That is why I installed XP Mode on the computer.
Working On A Project At Work

I have been busy at work lately. I was on call last week which was busy then usual.
I want to talk about a project that I am working on at work. I was getting an error message when using one of the features of the new software application. The error message was can not create an active x compenent.
The vendor was saying it was our fault we were blocking active x components. It wasn’t our fault. I installed another piece of software for this project then error message went away. I would think the vendor would say you need this software for this piece to work.
Just don’t give up on it and it will work in the end.

Google URL Shortner Service
So I was reading CNN on the new Google URL Shorting service. It is like all of the other services that you see around the internet to shorten your web links. You can use them in Twitter, affiliate marketing and on your website.
I have created a link back to my website. The address http://goo.gl/HtHv. It is a very short web address so that is a good thing.
Here is the front end of the website to create your short web address.
Here is what the backend looks like. It gives a little bit of information on someone that clicks on your link. Where they came from, what kind of browser, country, and the type of operating system. If it is windows, mac, linux etc.

It was a very fast install and it did the job that the employee wanted at work.
