They didn’t fix it because it was under waranty so they sent me a new printer the printer didn’t have back cover, so they tech for HP told me to send the printer back to them. This was on 10/23/08. I sent them the printer on 10/27/08. I was the stupid person that didn’t write down the tracking number that was on the preprinted label. So I could have a record of the tracking number.

On the original tracking number it shows that the printer got scanned at the Syracuse hub on 10/27/08 at 7:30 PM. I don’t have a printer but the only thing I have now is a back cover. FEDEX was no help either. Why can’t you do a search on an address that the package was pickup from. So frustrating this is. Thanks HP you could originally told me that you were able to send me the back cover and I didn’t have to send the printer back out to you.

I couldn’t use our network boot disk because it didn’t have NIC drivers for it so I ended up creating a BartPE CD that has ghost 8 on it and all the SATA and NIC drivers. I think this is a much better solution. The Bart PE will map a network to our ghost server were we have all of our images and I just fire up ghost and go to our network so I can image the laptop or create an image from the laptop. To setup BartPE was really easy. I searched on how to add ghost and setup a mapped drive in BartPE. Within a couple hours I had a working CD where I can ghost computers and create images.

I setup 3 mobilecarts with laptops and We got some APC Extended battery this time. I really don’t like the tips for the extended battery. All the rest of the tips are angled but the IBM ones. I had put in a work order for engineering to drill a hole on the top of the mobilecarts so the user could stick a pencil or a pen to power on the laptop. If the tips for the IBM laptops were angled we wouldn’t have to drill a hole on the mobilecart and the laptop would fit nicely.

If you want to check your stats on your website then you need some kind of application that will gather everything about you visitors for you. I use Google Analytics to keep an eye on my website stats. With these kinds of services you can tell a whole lot about your visitor. Google Analytics gives you a lot of information about your visitor and that is why I like it so much. Google Analytics is also free and you are not limited at what you can see like other stat counter places.

With Google Analytics you get a tracking code from them all you have to do is put on your front page of your website. If you have a blog I like to put the code on the footer page because WordPress includes the footer page on all the pages that it renders.

To signup for Google Analytics then Click Here

Your web host might give you access to a stats software called AWSTATS. This is a pretty good alternative to Google Analytics. I would use Google Analytics and AWSTATS to sift through the data to get the big picture. You can’t just use one stats application.

I called at 7:00 AM about jammed printer. I then had to reboot the canon print server because the canon copiers were not able to connect. I had a total of three the first call in. On the second call in I had a server that lost communication with the domain controller. I had to rejoin back onto the domain. After I did that the application started to work. I then a had laptop in ER that wouldn’t show the Java screens in their application so I had to reinstall Java. So that was my Saturday. How was your Saturday?

I was doing tickets again. We got a shipment of laptops that need to prepped and ready. They are IBM R400 laptops. I had to download all of the drivers. I am still working on the laptop.

I got a call about one of the operations was getting you don’t have the right version of java. I told him he had to close out of all of his browsers and open it again. It worked for him. I then got another call at 1:30 AM about an PACS were running slow. I remember there was a problem that about a week ago and there was a job that hung up so I told operations to call the PACS Administrator. The PACS Administrator rebooted the server. I am going to try and get the last computers put in on Friday so I don’t have to worry about.

I also went to Bellavia Taxi company. They had a major fire in the garage of the building. They moved all of their computer equipment into their other building to get operations going again. I got their around 5 and stayed almost to 7. All of the computers and servers are up and working.

The last two that I have there were patients in the rooms. I did tickets for the rest of the day. One ticket I got was for the same problem that the web app is running slow. I put in a loaner and took the computer. I checked the memory which came back fine. I am reprepping the computer. If it acts up I can say it is the web app or the network that is causing the issue. The bottleneck is that the computer is connected to a 10/100 mb switch and the uplink is 100 mb and all of the clients are connected at 100. This will give you a bottleneck. The web application can be a problem also. They have been rolling out new area of the application and they are putting more and more clients on it. At peak times this could slow it down. I don’t know what to think about it. The only thing I can do is check the desktop side of things and put in my recommendations.

The keyword of the day is diet pill.

I got a call last night for problem over in the Prompt care but one of my supervisors saw the ticket and had already been talking to the user. It was a label printer that wasn’t working not the application or service attached to the application. He made a change on a printer that they use but he thought it was going to change a printer that he was working on not the one in prompt care.
