Cook County Sheriff filled a lawsuit against Craigslist
Cook County Sheriff filled a lawsuit against Craigslist because he says Craigslist is promoting prostitution. Cook County Sheriff Thomas Dart wants craigslist to eliminate its adult section. The sheriff said that Craigslist is the largest place for this type of activity in the United States.
Craigslist has bunch of different measures in place to verify who these people that post on their website in the Erotic Services section. They have a phone verification system for listings that required ad posters to provide a real telephone number that would be called before the ad went public. Craigslist also imposed listing fees, requiring a credit card, for ads in the section. Craigslist said they created this section of website because people were posting in the dating section so there was a need for it.
What does everyone think? Should they take this section of their website down? I think people have ways to trick their verification services. You can buy arepaid cell phone. You can also buy a prepaid credit card. I think the trafficing is a real problem in the United States that need to be stopped. You be the judge and give me your take on the situation?
