Gateway MX6027 Laptop

gateway_mx6027

I had to reinstall the operating system on this computer. The computer is an Intel Celeron 1.40 GHZ with only 256 MB of Ram. I am going to talk with the client and try to get her to upgrade it to 1 GIG. When I was putting on the drivers I was able to get all of them working except for the Audio and the Modem. I searched the internet and I finally found a solution to get the Audio and Modem to work.

For the Modem I found the driver to be a Conexant M360, 6000 series modem and the driver version is 7.18.00.50. This is what worked for the modem.

For the Audio I found the driver to be a Conexant M360, 6000 series audio driver and the driver version is 6.14.10.0.510. This is what also worked for the audio driver.

You can find these drivers in the Gateway drivers and downloads section. I think it kind of sucks that you you have to go to a different model to get the right driver. The memory that you can install on this computers can be PC 3200 or PC 2700. You can only have a max of 1 GIG. The operating system that comes with factory restore media is Windows Home Edition.

If you need to take components out of the laptop to replace them here is a PDF document that I found. To download the Gateway MX6027 Laptop PDF then Click Here.

I once had an old laptop and it took me ages to find the drivers as it was a Compaq from the 1990′s. Glad to hear you eventually came right.

For my new laptop, I have backed up all my drivers on a DVD, so that it’s easier for me next time.

This reminds me that some computer repair place still has one of my laptops, it’s been like six months.

Phone call time! On a side note re-installing windows is a nightmare nothing enjoyable about it to me, much happier with my Mac now.
