How to Keep your Motorola Droid Screen Unlocked
I am not going to do a video for this but maybe I might when I have some free time. The app that I am talking about is called the Screen Mode Widget. All you have to do with this app is to make it a widget on one of your screens so you can click on the button.
You have three different modes that you can use. They are Awake Stay, Screen Stay, and Sleep Auto.
Sleep Auto the phone will screen off and lock the screen like it defaults to when you buy the phone. Awake Stay the device will not lock the screen but will shutt he screen off. Screen stay will not lock the screen and will never shut the screen off.
Here is a picture of the what the icon looks like for the screen mode widget. This widget is free which I really like about it.

Since the 2.1 update Screen mode widget is not working correctly. It keeps going from awake stay to auto sleep. Therefore I have to keep unlocking the phone. Uninstall and reinstall did not help. when this works it is terrific.

As of 2010-06-18, Screen Mode is no longer being updated. Search for Screen Mode Lite and Screen Mode Pro. The reviews aren’t great right now, so the developer may be working out bugs. The SwitchPro Widget is an alternative, but it’s not free. SwitchPro has a lot of additional functions, not all of which work right now, but the screen always on functions sounds like it works for most users.
Thanks for this site! It’s been driving me crazy that my new droid keeps shutting off. I’ve missed more calls!!!!!!!!!!!!!
