Software License Model That I Encountered Yesterday
So today I installed a scanner and software so the users can scan documents into the system. The users needed more scanner installed at the nurses station because they just had one scanner and it backing their work up. I thought I could just transfer the license from the one computer to the other computer. Well was I wrong about that.
I did do the transfer request form but was told that the licenses that we bought were one time use licenses. What how stupid was that. We did install the software on 6 computers because they were scanning in one system but then transferred to another system when it went live and didn’t need this scanning software so we uninstalled it. We are out those 6 licenses because they don’t need that software anymore but we can’t install it anywhere else because we already installed the software.
I think this is software model is just wrong because it just money grubbing. With any software you should be able to transfer the software licenses that you bought. The software license is around $340+ for it. We are out a lot of money because of this software.
